We are the Youngstown May Day Festival, and...

We are building another world together and understand that our behavior here is part of the prefiguration of that better world.

We seek to build a broad tent of aligned people, organizations, and groups.

We promote the flourishing of community, interdependence, mutual aid, and non-commercial civil engagement.

We welcome people of all races, ethnic identities, ages, sexual identities, gender identities, abilities, classes, education levels, spiritual practices, and other intersections of difference.

We respect the plurality of voices, opinions, political viewpoints of people that seek to support civil rights, human rights, climate justice, labor, diversity of faith, and other aligned values of May Day’s green and red traditions.

Our Values

Our Goals

We seek to build community resilience and capacity to organize, resist, and participate in prefigurative community.

We seek to build a broad, positive vision of progressive values and to support aligned projects and campaigns in our Valley.

We seek to be a space of peer-based education about what’s going on in our Valley, region, Ohio, nationally and internationally with an emphasis on how the local and broader are connected.

We seek to bring together community engaged in positive change in Youngstown for a day of DIY, eco-conscious and labor friendly sharing of existing resources and planning for future events and actions
