About the Youngstown May Day Festival Planning Committee
The Youngstown May Day Festival was founded in 2020 by a group of a small group of community organizers under the name Youngstown Solidarity. In 2021 we held our first festival at the Calvin Center for the Arts, and were thankful to find that many community members had been desiring such a place to meet like-minded people.

Since then we have grown into a large, diverse coalition of organizers from the Mahoning Valley. We each take planning roles and day of roles, as possible. We meet monthly to plan the event and report back on progress for tasks for our respective roles.
Historically, we have run Youngstown May Day Festival out of in-kind donations of space, food, and labor, and a few private donors covering costs we incur for food, materials, and supporting our presenters.

The Youngstown May Day Festival is proud to be a project of the Mahoning Valley Solidarity Alliance.
