Youngstown May Day Festival Highlights:
Our fifth annual Youngstown May Day Festival was held April 26-27, 2025.
​
Highlights included:
The Mahoning Trumbull Workers Memorial Ceremony honoring workers fallen on the jobsite, a ceremony co-sponsored by the Workers United and the AFL-CIO.
The weekend’s speakers and roundtables included: Our “101” workshops include an Intro to Grassroots Activism, Immigration Defense NOW, a panel on Progressive electoral strategy, and an introduction to conscious living practices. We also welcomed back our beloved speaker Sean Posey, and a talk on the problem with school vouchers and democracy.
The event included crafts for young and old including making mini Maypoles, rainbow wind chimes, community mural paintings, a zine making workshop and a special workshop on blackout poetry.

Music included We Are Pirates, Crash the Great, Tim Raridon, Jonathan Blackshirt, Danny McMaster, Indig0Forest, Emotional Labor, Tay'larrae, Tom Cvetkovich, and Black Wolf & the Thief.
